DETERMINANTS OF FARMER-TO-CONSUMER DIRECT MARKET VISITS BY TYPE OF FACILITY: A LOGIT ANALYSIS

This study identifies several socioeconomic and demographic characteristics of individuals who visited farmer-to-consumer direct markets in New Jersey. The analysis was performed for each type of direct marketing facility: pick-your-own farms, roadside stands, farmers' markets, and direct farm markets. Logit analysis results indicate that various factors affect visitation to each type of facility. Factors examined include consumers' consumption and variety of fruits and vegetables, price expectation, purpose of buying, age, sex, education, race, income, urbanization, and presence of home garden.Consumer/Household Economics,

FACTORS AFFECTING THE NUMBER AND TYPE OF SMALL-FARM DIRECT MARKETING OUTLETS IN MISSISSIPPI

The objective of this study was to delineate and measure the effects of selected economic demographic characteristics of Mississippi counties on the number and type of direct marketing of fruits and vegetables. A combination of primary data collected through a survey of county agents and secondary data from government sources were assembled to achieve the objective. Regression equations representing pick-your own marketing, farmerÂ’s' markets and farm stands were estimated with the iterative three stage least squares technique. Indicators of systemic immunity in patients suffering from pyodermatosis with various clinical course

It was established that patients with pyodermatosis had changes in indicators of cellular and humeral immune system with manifestations of secondary immuno-deficiency state in T-cell link. It was revealed the relationship between the nature of changes of systemic immunity and clinical course of pyodermatosis which justifies a differentiated administration of immunocorrecting drugs to such patients
